IXL games for k - 8: This site includes provincial curriculum expectations and related math games and drills. It allows for timed practice and shows the score you achieved for each activity. Ten Marks: Click on "See how it works" at the bottom of the page and then type in the grade level. From there, select from a range of math activities in the drop down menu. Cool Math: Select the K-3 range for math games and then the topic before choosing a specific game. This site is best previewed by parents to avoid games that might have more mature content. Discovery Education Puzzlemaker: Create your own number puzzles to solve with different degrees of difficulty by varying the grid size and blank boxes. Annenberg Learners TV episodes: Teachers model how different math concepts are taught to K - 4 students in U.S. schools. INTERACTIVE SIMULATIONS AND LESSONS National Library of Virtual Manipulatives: Have fun moving manipulatives and learning from this hands on interactive site. All strands of math are covered using highly engaging tools. Kathy Shrock's Guide for Educators: The site includes a wealth of lessons, resources, math problems to practice, etc. Ask Dr. Math is a site you won't want to miss! Mathville: Click on a house to find the topic you want to explore. Other grade level links are provided too. PBS Teachers: Choose your grade and subject matter to zero in on offline and interactive type lessons. Random.org: Good site to try probability type experiments using dice and Canadian coins. Chets Mathblog: This site supports parents in helping their child with homework. WolframAlpha: Online calculator useful for solving math equations |
