Student Senate
Our Board has had a Student Senate in place
for several years. The Student Senate includes the Student
Council Prime Minister from each of our sixteen secondary
schools. The Student Senate meets regularly and provides
the vehicle for meaningful input and a strong student voice
at the Board table.
The Student Senate came into being in 2001 and has continued
to grow stronger year by year as the Student Trustees work
with student leaders from each of our high schools. It
has served as an effective vehicle for Student Trustees
to obtain input from students in all of our schools in
support of the student voice at the Board table.
The Student Senate has defined their role
and operations and produced their Constitution in 2004.
